Jakarta, September 30, 2025 – The Village Participation Program (PPD) initiated by PT Sumbawa Timur Mining (STM) successfully received the Silver category award at the 2025 Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainable Village Development (CSR & PDB) Awards. This award was organized by the Indonesian Social Sustainability Forum (ISSF) in collaboration with the Ministry of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions.

The CSR & PDB Awards is a recognition event for companies that have contributed to accelerating village and disadvantaged region development through innovative and collaborative programs. This year, the CSR & PDB Awards ceremony was held at Hotel Bidakara Jakarta on Tuesday (30/9), and was attended by the Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions H. Yandri Susanto, S.Pt., M.Pd., the Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Dr. (H.C.) H. Zulkifli Hasan, S.E., M.M., other ministry officials, and several regional heads.

Chairman of ISSF, Dr. Sudarmanto, AAK., expressed his appreciation to the award recipients who have contributed to creating social sustainability. “The CSR and PDB Awards activities have impacted economic development in 431 villages. Today we are proud that corporations are contributing to transforming disadvantaged villages into developing ones, then into advanced and independent villages,” said Sudarmanto in his speech.

He also explained that there has been an increase in the number of villages being assisted since the award program was first held in 2022, which at that time involved 93 villages. According to Sudarmanto, this award program aligns with Presidential Asta Cita number 6, which is to build from the village and from the grassroots for economic equity and poverty eradication.

The effectiveness of PPD in Dompu Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province, enabled STM to become one of the winners of the 2025 CSR & PDB Awards. PPD, which has been running since 2017, is STM’s form of support for the Village Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMDes) established through village deliberations. In 2024, the budget allocated for PPD amounted to approximately IDR 1.83 billion, focusing on health, economy, and education sectors.

STM’s Senior Community Relations Analyst, Vovia Witni, explained that PPD is implemented in 8 villages in Hu’u District and 2 villages in Pajo District, Dompu Regency. “Each village has its own priority program determined through village deliberations. In Cempi Jaya Village, for example, last year they agreed to use PPD funds to improve posyandu facilities, revitalize early childhood education (PAUD), procure public toilets, and construct retaining walls,” said Witni.

Witni stated that through PPD, STM is present to support various community needs around the company’s operational area so that they can grow together. “We are here to support various community needs, always involving the local government as a form of collaboration and transparency. All PPD implementations are carried out by professional work partners agreed upon together,” said Witni after receiving the 2025 CSR & PDB Awards, which was directly presented by the Expert Staff for Strategic Planning at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Jisman P. Hutajulu.

PPD is part of STM’s integrated community development and empowerment program (PPM) around the Hu’u Project area, a copper exploration project managed by STM. This program also received the Top CSR Awards in the 4-Star category in June 2025 for its contribution to social development. In addition to PPD, STM also has several flagship programs such as the Education Quality Improvement Program (EQUIP), Achievement Scholarship Program, MSME Development Program, Community Sanitation Program, and other programs that continue to be developed according to the potential and needs around the company’s operational area.

“We are proud that STM’s PPD was selected as one of the winners of the 2025 CSR & PDB Awards. This achievement is inseparable from solid teamwork, supportive company management, and support from various other parties. We thank everyone for their support and hope this award will motivate us to create the best and most sustainable contributions for the community,” Witni concluded.

Head of Adu Village, Alwi H. Arsyad, whose village is one of the PPD recipients from STM, said that this annual program greatly helps the community in meeting priority needs. “STM’s support through PPD is very beneficial for village development and helps the people of Adu Village. On behalf of the Adu community, I express my deepest gratitude to STM,” he said during the PPD program evaluation in Adu Village, Thursday (18/9).

In the 2025 PPD, the people of Adu Village planned a health program consisting of sports field improvements, family latrines, and equipping the village maternity clinic (polindes) with medical equipment. In the economic sector, they plan to procure agricultural tools such as hand tractors and sprayers. Meanwhile, in the education sector, they will improve facilities and infrastructure for early childhood education (PAUD) and Qur’an education parks (TPQ), as well as procure marawis instruments.
